What Lila keeps, and what it does not.
This page is the plain-language version. The binding one is the privacy policy, and the two do not contradict each other.
A real on-device half
Capture, reminders and the daily ritual run on your phone, against a local database, so they work with no connection. If you tap Don’t Allow on the cloud AI prompt, you keep an on-device app and nothing is sent to the AI companies named below.
What leaves the phone, and why
Cloud AI features send what you give them to Groq, OpenAI, Google (Gemini) and Anthropic: your chat messages, voice recordings, files and photos, app-building requests and, on Pro, readings. That includes chat on the Free plan. Nothing is sent until you allow cloud AI, on the screen Lila shows when you first open it; you can change it per feature in Settings → Privacy & Data → Cloud AI. On Pro, LiveKit also relays the audio and captions of live voice conversations. What each company receives is in the full privacy policy.
Things we do not do
No advertising, no ad targeting, no selling your data, no cross-app tracking identifiers, and no background listening. Lila records when you start it and not otherwise.
Controls that actually do something
Read your memories, correct them, clear them. Export everything as a file. Delete your account and have the whole of it removed rather than flagged.
This website
This site sets no cookies, runs no advertising trackers and does not profile you. The one thing it sends anywhere is what you type in the chat: it goes to a language model so that it can answer you. We write none of it down — no log, no database, no analytics event — and nothing about the conversation stays in your browser. What happens to a message once the model has it is that model’s own policy and not ours to promise, so it is not the place for anything private. If you leave a message or an address, we keep those so we can answer — nothing else.
